【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandard,withitsseveralparts,givesrecommendationsfortheretrieval,handlingandanalysisofsurgicalimplants,medicalimplantsandassociatedspecimenswhichareremovedfrompatientsroutinely,duringrevisionsurgery,orpostmortem.Theaimistoprovideguidanceinpreventingdamagetotheassociatedspecimenswhichcouldobscureinvestigationresults,andingatheringdataatthepropertimeandcircumstancetovalidatethestudy.ISO12891-1isintendedtobetheoverallguidancedocumentfortheretrievalandhandlingofsurgicalimplants,ensuringtheirsafeandproperretrieval,sterilizationandhandling.IntheassociatedpartsofthisInternationalStandard,protocolsforthecollectionofdataandexaminationsareprovidedforspecifictypesofmaterialinrelationtotheirtypicalapplications.Forparticularinvestigationpro-grammes,additional,morespecific,protocolsmayberequired.Ifspecialanalyticaltechniquesareemployed,theappropriatehandlingproceduresneedtobespecified.ThispartofISO12891shouldbeappliedinaccordancewithnationalregulationsorlegalrequirementsregardingthehandlingandanalysisofretrievedimplantsandtissues.
