【摘要】:Althoughitispossibletoobserveandmeasureeachoftheseveralcharacteristicsofadetectorunderdifferentanduniqueconditions,itistheintentofthisrecommendedpracticethatacompletesetofdetectorspecificationsshouldbeobtainedatthesameoperatingconditions,includinggeometry,flowrates,andtemperatures.Itshouldbenotedthattospecifyadetectorrsquo;capabilitycompletely,itsperformanceshouldbemeasuredatseveralsetsofconditionswithintheusefulrangeofthedetector.Thetermsandtestsdescribedinthisrecommendedpracticearesufficientlygeneralsothattheymaybeusedatwhateverconditionsmaybechosenforotherreasons.TheFIDisgenerallyonlyusedwithnon-ionizablesupercriticalfluidsasthemobilephase.Therefore,thisstandarddoesnotincludetheuseofmodifiersinthesupercriticalfluid.Linearityandspeedofresponseoftherecordingsystemorotherdataacquisitiondeviceusedshouldbesuchthatitdoesnotdistortorotherwiseinterferewiththeperformanceofthedetector.Effectiverecorderresponse,Refs.(5,6)inparticular,shouldbesufficientlyfastsothatitcanbeneglectedinsensitivityofmeasurements.Ifadditionalamplifiersareusedbetweenthedetectorandthefinalreadoutdevice,theircharacteristicsshouldalsofirstbeestablished.1.1Thispracticecoversthetestingoftheperformanceofaflameionizationdetector(FID)usedasthedetectioncomponentofagasorsupercriticalfluid(SF)chromatographicsystem.1.2ThisrecommendedpracticeisdirectlyapplicabletoanFIDthatemploysahydrogen-airorhydrogen-oxygenflameburnerandadcbiasedelectrodesystem.1.3Thisrecommendedpracticecoverstheperformanceofthedetectoritself,independentlyofthechromatographiccolumn,thecolumn-to-detectorinterface(ifany),andothersystemcomponents,intermsthattheanalystcanusetopredictoverallsystemperformancewhenthedetectorismadepartofacompletechromatographicsystem.1.4Forgeneralgaschromatographicprocedures,PracticeE260shouldbefollowedexceptwherespecificchangesarerecommendedhereinfortheuseofanFID.FordefinitionsofgaschromatographyanditsvarioustermsseeRecommendedPracticeE355.1.5Forgeneralinformationconcerningtheprinciples,construction,andoperationofanFID,seeRefs(1,2,3,4).1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificsafetyinformation,seeSection.
